accidentally put weight on foot after ankle surgery

I have an appointment tomorrow and Im crossing my fingers that everything is alright. I had a similar scare last night while getting out of the shower. No pain, but freaked out. I spoke with the doctor by phone, as my Splint is looser due to calf atrophy. Very rarely have I seen that it's done lasting damage. just updating for the next poor soul who happens upon this encouraging blog for the same unfortunate reason. Should I buy a night splint or something? It was really a good idea to call your doctor. I just had achiiles surgery on Monday 6/14. I have a horrible fear of falling due to the fact that Ive had 3 falls since surgery. Thank you! Worried I reruptured now and am debating moving my check up to Monday to give me peace of mind. I am 12 days post op and I was getting up from a chair, lost my balance and put my full weight on the injured leg. I called doctors office was told if additional pain or swelling to come in Im praying there is no additional harm cant handle any more surgery. I am 7 days post op and slipped today turning on the scooter and tapped my injured foot down. Good luck with your progress! A more serious broken ankle will take time in recovery and delay walking; therefore, avoid putting weight on the injured area until instructed to do so by a doctor. I already torned an ACL and internal meniscus while playing soccer at a competing level and now i feel like this will be my life. Update: Saw ortho today and had cast removed. I heard no popping or tearing and no severe pain. Both continued to get worse the rest of day. Im still going to call my doctor on monday. My doctor said if your waking boot or cast is on during a fall, there is only the smallest of chances of a rerupture of because those things both are made to keep your foot immobile, keeping the tendon from stretching. While its always risky to draw conclusions with a sample of one, I do think that the casts and boots do a great job of providing protection.
